Richland County, ND / Wilkin County, MN EF-4

This was a very memorable chase from 2010. A supercell over the Minnesota / North Dakota region which produced an absolute stunning and very photogenic EF-4 Tornado. After plotting and forecasting a target area of final chase target of Wahpeton, ND earlier in the day; things panned out nicely in the afternoon as convective initiation occurred nearly over our target area. We first intercepted the tornado on the North Dakota side of the river and quickly tracked it east back into Minnesota near the communities of Campbell and Tenney, MN. Unfortunately this tornado did severely damage a number of farmsteads, but thankfully no injuries or deaths became of this event. This tornado remained nearly stationary at times along its very slow progression to the NE before dissipating just north of Campbell, MN.
